Here's a little about Jack and Jill

The Brazilian Zouk Dance Council established Jack & Jill competitions worldwide in 2015.

JJ competitions involve social dancing alongside other couples, with a randomly selected partner to a randomly selected song. Qualified judges give each dancer a score and depending on the number of dancers there may be heats, semi-finals and finals – potentially several opportunities to dance more. There are different divisions so that people new to Zouk won’t be competing against an advanced-skills dancer. Official Jack Jill competitions are approved by the BZDC and run according to strict guidelines and with BZDC qualified registered judges. Competitors earn points for placing in official J&J competitions worldwide.

Jack Jill competitions are aimed at being a fun social dance competition and are not a professional dancer competition. The more people who participate the bigger and better the energy is. They are another way in addition to classes to challenge yourself, learn more about your strengths, areas for improvement, be part of the Zouk community and have fun.
